that is the pat green song i will sing as i drive home from iowa to texas next year. i've decided to make a list of good things about living in des moines (in my head at least) to keep me distracted from thinking about how miserable winters will be there. in order (ok, at least #1 is in order)
1. it is only 930 miles from Austin. mapquest puts that at 14.3 hours. everybody knows what a screwball mapquest is though, so i'll put it at a more accurate 13. that is 10 hours less than it takes to drive from provo to austin. hallelujah.
2. there is a sonic drive-in there. so no worries.
3. iowa's state fair is the largest in the country. i love state fairs/rodeos. they are the best thing ever and they have every kind of food that i like. turkey legs, fried picklesmacaronisnickerstwinkies, bbq, and lemonade.
4. humidity. i love it. it makes my hair look horrible but i like drinking my air, thank you very much. and if it has a hint of farm smell to it, that's alright by me.
5. no more mountains. i'm excited to again live in a place where i can see faaarrr faaaaaaaaaaarrr away.
6. i like corn. scratch that, we LOVE sweet corn.
well, that's about it.
damon's at work today and i am not. so maybe this time i'll be productive and get our christmas shopping done. first i shall go to costco and eat samples for lunch though.
goodbye.
ps, who are you? since i put my blog on facebook/got married, my visitor map one day went up to 47. 47 VIEWS!!! that has never happened, i've never gotten past, oh, 6 or so, considering i thought only my family (they don't comment) and best friends looked here. but now there are all these people, and i'm feeling a little strange about some of the locations...like, who is that in Buda? i love Buda, it's the last little city before i'm back in Austin, so that's cool. but who are you? and all you california people? san marcos, ca? and some other strange sounding cities that i never knew of?

Well, I've been checking in since way before you were married, so I might as well de-lurk now! I'm Rachel Eddington (now Morgan) and I usually show up as Roosevelt or Vernal, Utah.
I love your photos, and your wedding was absolutely beautiful. Congratulations to both of you! Marriage is wonderful!
